Sandra J. “Sandy” Irish

Description automatically generatedLOWVILLE – Sandra J. “Sandy” Irish, 74, died early Saturday morning, September 7, 2024, at Lewis County Health System, Nursing Home, where she has resided since November of 2021.

 

Sandy was born on March 16, 1950 in Lowville the daughter of the late Victor Terrence and Loretta Mildred (Lambert) Smith. She graduated from Beaver River Central School. Sandy was not afraid of work. She worked for Beaverite in Beaver Falls, worked in Gouverneur at a sub shop. She ran her own trash business, worked at McDonalds in Lowville. She retired from Lewis County General Hospital where she worked in the cafeteria. Sandy was previously married to Paul J. Irish.

 

She is survived by her sister, Sharon A. Tabolt; her sister-in-law, Laurie Smith (Bob); her grandchildren, Brandon, Zachary, Chelsea, and Leah; and cousins. 

 

Sandy is predeceased by her son, Victor Paul Irish, her brother, Gary Victor Smith (Laurie), and her brother-in-law, Vincent J. Tabolt, and her longtime friend, Russell E. Kellogg.

 

Sandy loved to play cards, going to dances, and traveling. She was an excellent banjo and guitar musician. She also liked to go swimming. Sandra enjoyed the company of her cats.

 

A graveside service will be on Wednesday, September 11th at 11:00 A.M. at Riverside Cemetery Annex with Bruce W. Chapman, officiating.
