Lewis County to Celebrate Opening of Singing Waters

SUBJECT: LEWIS COUNTY CELEBRATES OPENING SINGING WATERS PARK
GREIG, NY- On Wednesday,
September 11, 2024, Lewis County will be celebrating the opening of Singing
Waters Park, located at 7273 Fish Creek Road, Greig, NY 13345. The
celebration will begin at 11:00 AM under the pavilion. Light refreshments
will be served, and people will be able to walk around the park.
Jackie Mahoney,
Director of the Recreation, Forestry and Parks Department, states that she
is thrilled that this project is complete. Its really a huge improvement
the county invested in to make the park amazing, Mahoney said,
"Recreation is a huge factor in Lewis County. We have a beautiful
county, and we love to show it off, so, you know, the more we can do that
the better.
The park has
tent-only sites featuring an updated bathhouse with handicap accessibility,
a picnic pavilion, and updated camping sites. The park also features short
hiking trails to explore with beautiful waterfall views.
Lewis County is
nestled 40 miles south of the Canadian border covering 1,290 square miles
in the beautiful North County. The current population is 26,582 people and
was established in 1805.
