 LYONS FALLS- Edward “Ed” J.
Teal, 81, passed away on Tuesday, July 9, 2024 at
Tidwell Hospice House, Port Charlotte, Florida after many months of
declining health.
Ed was born on
March 12, 1943, a son of the late John and Mary Teal, Sr. He graduated from
Lyons Falls High School in 1961 and started work with the Lyons Falls Paper
Company. On May 9, 1964 he married Marion
“Patty” Teal in Lyons Falls. Soon after he went to work at the family
business, Teal’s Express, where he continued to work alongside his brothers
and sister managing the company until his retirement in 1988.
He is survived by
his son and daughter-in-law, Nick and Suzanne Teal, his three
grandchildren, Madison, Evan and Elizabeth and one great grandchild,
Emerson; a brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Jean Teal of Lyons Falls;
a sister and brother-in-law, Shirley and Gerald Van Nest of Lyons Falls;
and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is predeceased in death by his
beloved wife, Marion “Patty” Teal, who passed away on October 2, 2008; a
brother and sister-in-law, John and Agnes “Porky” Teal, Jr.; a sister and
brother-in-law, Mary and Donald Lenahan; and a brother, Donald Teal who
died as an infant.
Ed enjoyed
collecting stamps, coins, and model trucks. He was known for his sense of
humor, which will be remembered by many.
There will be no
calling hours or funeral service. Ed will be buried along side his wife Patty at
Wildwood Cemetery in Lyons Falls, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations may be
made in his memory to Tidewell Hospice House,
1158 Veronica St. Port Charlotte Fl 33952.
Ed’s family would

all of the support and care she has shown to Ed
over the past 16 years.
