Flooding Prompts Road Closures and No Unnecessary
Travel Advisory in Village of Lowville

UPDATE (11:25 AM): Lowville Police
report that all roads/streets in the village are reopened. The No
Unnecessary Travel Advisory issued earlier this morning for the Village of
Lowville has been rescinded as of 11:25 AM.
The Village of
Lowville has issued a NO UNNECESSARY TRAVEL ADVISORY in the village until
further notice due to flooded streets.
Lewis County
Public Transportation's "Lowville Loop" is CANCELLED and will not
be running today.
Current road
closures in the village include N. State St., Bostwick St., Park Ave.
(between Bostwick and Trinity), and Ross Rd.
A FLOOD WARNING
is in effect until 2 PM.
Lowville Fire
have been dispatched to numerous reports of flooded basements and New
Bremen and Martinsburg fire departments have been requested to assist with
pumping details.
DPW
Superintendent Paul Denise states that sand bags
(unfilled) and sand are available in the white barn at the sewer treatment
plant on East State St. for anyone needing them. Anyone who would like to
help fill sandbags for residents unable to do so can do so at that
location.
