Description automatically generatedLowville, NY – The Meat Grinder: A Ride with a Purpose, an eagerly anticipated annual road cycling event, is set to take place once again with the important goal of raising funds to bring the Mennonite Central Committee's (MCC) mobile meat canner to Maple Ridge Center in Lowville, NY, this Labor Day Weekend. For the second consecutive year, Meat Grinder Lewis County is proud to partner with the Adirondack Foothills Cycling Club to make this event a resounding success.

The Meat Grinder is more than just an exhilarating cycling event; it is a community effort to support a crucial cause. The MCC mobile meat canner provides canned meat for communities in need around the world, and the funds raised through this event will help ensure its arrival in Lowville in 2025.

Cyclists from all over are invited to participate in this year's event, which promises to be both demanding and rewarding. With a variety of routes designed to cater to different skill levels, from beginners to seasoned riders, the Meat Grinder offers something for everyone. Participants will traverse the picturesque roads of Lewis County, experiencing the beauty of the Adirondack Foothills while contributing to a vital humanitarian cause.

"We are thrilled to once again partner with the Adirondack Foothills Cycling Club for the Meat Grinder," said Jeremy Kelly, Chair of Meat Grinder Lewis County. "This event not only challenges cyclists but also brings our community together to support the MCC's mission of providing essential food supplies to those in need. We are grateful for the continued support and participation from cyclists and sponsors alike."

Rebecca Paté-Johnson, Board Member of the Adirondack Foothills Cycling Club, added, "Partnering with Meat Grinder Lewis County aligns perfectly with our club's values of promoting cycling and community engagement. We are excited to help raise funds for such an important cause and look forward to seeing cyclists of all ages and abilities join us for this year's event."

The Meat Grinder event will take place on Saturday, August 31, starting at 9:00 am from The Maple Ridge Center in Lowville, NY. Registration is now open, and participants can sign up online at Meat Grinder: A Ride With A Purpose Online Registration (bikereg.com). Proceeds from the event will go directly towards bringing the MCC mobile meat canner to Maple Ridge Center and to The Adirondack Foothills Cycling Clubs All Kids Bike Program.
