Description automatically generatedGLENFIELD- Carolyn M. McKee, 78, of Oliver Place, passed away on Saturday evening, July 13, 2024 at Wynn Hospital, Utica.

 

She is survived by a son, Lansing E. McKee III of Glenfield; five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; two siblings, Marilyn Perry of Hastings; Patrick O’Hara of Auburn; nieces, nephews and cousins.  She is predeceased by her husband, Lansing McKe Jr.; a son, Scott E. McKee; her siblings, Paul O’Hara; Michael O’Hara; and Frederick O’Hara, who died in infancy.

 

Carolyn was born on July 30, 1945 in Carthage, NY, a daughter of the late Thomas and Clara M. West O’Hara.  She graduated from Pulaski Academy in 1963.  On August 28, 1963 she married Lansing McKee Jr.  Mr. McKee passed away on April 28, 1979.  Carolyn worked for Lewis County General Hospital in the kitchen for 16 years.  Over the years, she also worked for Lewis County Dairy, Burger King in Boonville, and most recently in the deli at Walmart in Lowville. 

Carolyn was an avid bowler for many years.  She was active working alongside 3G Fire Department Auxiliary.  Carolyn was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need.  She loved to visit Whitaker Park and enjoyed spending time at Soft Maple.  She loved FBI and North Woods Laws shows.  Carolyn was a huge Georgia Bulldogs, Dale Earnhardt, and Erin Hamlin fan.

 

A graveside service will be at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 23, 2024 at Martinsburg Cemetery.  There are no calling hours or funeral service.  A luncheon at 3G Fire Department will immediately follow the graveside service, all are welcome.  Any food donations may be taken directly to 3-G Fire Hall on Tuesday beginning at 11:00 a.m.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to 3-G Fire Department Auxiliary, 6229 Blue Street, Glenfield, NY 13343.
