Village of Lowville Downtown Revitalization Initiative Project Submission Deadline Extended to August 30, 2024

Lowville, N.Y. – In response to the recent flooding that has impacted downtown Lowville, the Village of Lowville DRI Local Planning Committee (LPC) has announced an extension of the project submission deadline for the Downtown Revitalization Initiative (DRI) to Friday, August 30, 2024, at 5:00 pm.

The flooding has caused significant disruption to the community, including the downtown area. In light of these challenges, the LPC recognizes the need to provide additional time for residents and businesses to focus on recovery efforts while still allowing them the opportunity to participate in shaping the future of downtown Lowville.

The LPC continues to seek proposals to be included in the final Strategic Investment Plan, for potential funding from the $10 million allocation. DRI project submissions are an essential part of Lowville's revitalization efforts. All projects must be submitted using the Lowville DRI Project Form available at www.LowvilleDRI.org.

To assist project sponsors, the Lowville DRI consultant team will offer additional virtual drop-in sessions and individual meetings. Details for these support opportunities will be updated on the Village's DRI website.

The LPC remains committed to public engagement throughout this process. Members of the public are encouraged to stay informed about upcoming meetings, public workshops and engagement activities by visiting www.LowvilleDRI.org.

The DRI presents an opportunity to enhance the downtown area, improving pedestrian accessibility, stimulating business activity, and creating job opportunities. The community's resilience in the face of this challenge underscores the importance of the DRI in creating a vibrant, sustainable future for Lowville.

For more information about the Lowville DRI, or to access the project submission form, please visit www.LowvilleDRI.org.
