UPDATE
10:20 a.m.: Due to unforeseen circumstances, the demolition of the
“Fabric Mill” building will not take place today. Mayor Collins is in close
contact with Lewis County and will give an update as soon as one is
available. Sorry for any inconvenience.

For Immediate Notice:
The Commercial
property known as the “Fabric Building” on the corner of West Main St and
Rt 12. is scheduled to be demolished June 25th,
2024. (Time TBD)
Safety and
traffic details are as follows:
Route 12 and West
Main Street will remain open. West Main Street nearest to RT 12 may be
consolidated to one lane traffic at times for public safety.
Signs
and traffic control will be present on West Main Street and other areas
near the site.
Douglas
Street/West Main Street intersection will be closed during de-construction
process as hydrant lines will be present in roadway. Signage will be in
place.
Please avoid
parking or traffic blocking on East end of West
Main Street and Route 12 as well as North end of Canal Street until the
demolition has been completed.
Please avoid
walking near the site during demolition.
THE DESIGNATED
SAFE VIEWING SITE is Mechanic Street.
Please do not
block traffic on Rt 12 or West Main Street in any way. Thank you!
