Lowville Fire Department Hosting Annual Convention of
Northern New York Volunteer Firemen’s Association on June 8

Lowville, NY- The Lowville
Fire Department will be hosting the Northern New York Volunteer Firemen’s
Association (NNYVFA) 127th annual convention this year on June 8th. Activities
include a Fireman's Parade, starting at 6 p.m. at the Lowville Elks, with
the route then going up East State Street, turning left onto Trinty Avenue
and then across North State Street to Parkway Drive and ending behind the Lowville
firehall. The firehall will be open to the public after the parade.
NNYVFA is an
organization made up of volunteer firefighters from ten counties located in
northern New York, with firefighters from volunteer departments across the
region represented at the annual convention.
The schedule of
events for the June 8 convention is as follows:
8 AM: NNYVFA Convention Registration at
Lowville Fire Department (5420 Parkway Drive)
8 AM – 8:45 AM: NNY Ladies Auxiliary Registration
at Marine Corps League #754 (7429 State Route 12)
9 AM: NNYVFA Business Meetings at Lowville
Fire Department
9 AM: NNY Ladies Auxiliary Annual Meeting at
Marine Corps League #754
12 PM: Luncheon at Marine Corps League #754
1 PM: Firefighter of the Year and Memorial
Service at St. Peter’s Catholic Church (5439 Shady Avenue)
6 PM: Parade
7 PM: Entertainment at the Lowville Fire
