LOWVILLE, NY─ The Lewis County Residential Health Care Facility (RHCF) celebrated National Skilled Nursing Care Week from May 13-17, 2024.  The facility celebrated and honored the many ways residents enrich their caregivers' lives and how the caregivers enrich residents' lives through their acts of

caring and kindness.

On Tuesday, May 14th, the Residential Health Care Facility held a special ceremony to honor the 2023 Caregivers of the Year.  LCHS Chief Executive Officer Gerald Cayer welcomed staff residents and their family members and acknowledged the entire team for the outstanding care and support they provide daily for residents and their families.  The award recipients were announced by RHCF Director of Nursing Mackenzie Bellinger and presented by RHCF Administrator Debra Wurz.

The 2023 Caregivers of the Year were Jessalyn Dickinson, RCNA, Stephanie Larkins, CNA, Amber Croniser, CNA, and Rachel Baslow, CNA. Residents and co-workers nominated Caregivers for going above and beyond to provide care and support for residents.

"We are fortunate to have such a dedicated team to provide safe, compassionate care for residents," said Debra Wurz, Nursing Home Administrator.

Other Skilled Nursing Care Week events included: a lumberjack pancake breakfast, sock hop with music provided by DJ John Foster, a spa day, a family picnic, a classic car show, entertainment by the 10th Mountain Division Band, a movie day outing to the Lowville Town Hall Theater for a special viewing of the Wizard of Oz, a food truck day, and live music by Kasidee and Bill. The nursing home residents, staff, and volunteers enjoyed celebrating the commemorative week with our residents and their families.

Lewis County Health System and the Residential Health Care Facility congratulate Jessalyn, Stephanie, Amber,

and Rachel on this well-deserved recognition.
