Mr. Piche, an Adams Center native, will be moved forward for appointment as the final candidate for the position of Jefferson County Administrator by the Jefferson County Board of Legislators at a special meeting on Tuesday, June 18 at 6 p.m.,  confirmed in a notice announcing the special meeting. Long-time Jefferson County Administrator Robert F. Hagemann, III announced his intention to retire from the role earlier this year, opening the vacancy for the position.

Mr. Piche has confirmed to linkinglewiscounty.com that he will be accepting the appointment but wishes to wait until the appointment is officially made on Tuesday evening before discussing further. We’ll have an on-camera interview with Mr. Piche on Wednesday, with further details and comments at that time.

The Lewis County Board of Legislators first appointed Mr. Piche as County Manager at their June 6, 2017 meeting, with Mr. Piche starting the position on June 21, 2017. At the time of his appointment, he was serving as the City Manager in Caro, Michigan and had previously served as the Village Administrator in Botkins, Ohio. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Le Moyne College and Master of Public Administration Degree from the Rockefeller College of Public Affairs and Policy at the University of Albany.  His term as Lewis County Manger was last extended by the Board of Legislators in January, running through December 31, 2025.

The process for finding a new Lewis County Manager is expected to begin when the Lewis County Board of Legislators hold their committee meetings on Tuesday, June 18.

This is a developing story with more to come in the days and weeks ahead.
