Lewis County Civil Service Commission Announces New Training
and Experience Examination Upcoming for Corrections Officer Candidates

Upcoming Lewis County Corrections Officer Training
& Experience Examination
New York State
Civil Service recently approved the Correction Officer exam to be held as a
‘Training & Experience’ exam which means that candidates who apply and
meet the Minimum Qualifications can complete a thorough On-line
questionnaire that asks questions about your education, training
and work experience. This online questionnaire is YOUR exam. There
will be no in-person written exam.
Approved
candidates will be sent a notice containing directions to a website address
needed to complete the on-line Training and Experience Questionnaire.
The Questionnaire will be available on July 1, 2024
and approved candidates will be required to complete and submit the on-line
questionnaire between July 1, 2024 and July 31, 2024. Candidate completing the questionnaire will receive a
rating based upon evaluation of training and experience against the duties
of the position.
Candidates must
first complete an application and return it with the filing fee to the
Lewis County Civil Service Office on before the
last day of filing of June 30, 2024. Examination Applications and
