Description automatically generatedMARTINSBURG- Bruce V. Steria, 73, of Flat Rock Road, passed away on Monday, May 13, 2024 at his home, surrounded by his loved ones.

 

Calling hours are from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Saturday May 18, 2024 atIseneker Funeral Home, Inc. and from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 19, 2024 at Iseneker Funeral Home, Inc. with a funeral service to follow at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 19, 2024 at Iseneker Funeral Home, Inc., Lowville with Rev. Bruce W. Chapman officiating.Burial will be in Martinsburg Cemetery.A luncheon at the Martinsburg Fire Department will immediately follow the burial, all are welcome.Any food donations may be brought directly to the Martinsburg Fire Department on Sunday.In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Martinsburg Fire Department, Martinsburg, NY 13404.

He is survived by his beloved wife Robbin; five children, Tanya Steria, Billy and Jamie Steria, Carrie and Ronald Bacon, Tammy and Prince Israel, Spring and John Scanlon, all of Martinsburg; ten grandchildren, Kyle, Chelsea, Cameron, Devin, Mackenzie, Destiny, Darien, Cody, Coral, and Sophia; seven great-grandchildren, Aubrey, Bentley, Ava, Wayde, LeyLand, Walker, Ella; his siblings, Darlene Michalski of Lowville, Donald R. Steria of Blossvale, Tina Kaler of Lowville; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.He is predeceased by siblings, Tammy Lee Steria, Kenneth P. Steria, Victor D. Steria.

 

Bruce was born on March 29, 1951 in Lowville, NY, a son of the late Victor and Joyce Cobb Steria and attended Lowville Academy.He was a lifelong dairy farmer and a 55 year active member of the Martinsburg Volunteer Fire Department, where he served as past Fire Chief.Bruce also served on the Board of Directors for the Northern New York Farmerís Market.He loved to farm, plant, and watch his crops grow.He loved being a firefighter.Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family.
