All Kids Bike Program Celebrates Successful
Conclusion with Gift of Helmets and Brand-New Bikes
Beaver Falls, NY– The All Kids Bike program proudly celebrated its
conclusion on Wednesday May 15th, marking the end of an
inspiring journey where 10 children, all with different abilities, learned
the lifelong skill of riding a bike. The final night was filled with
excitement and joy as each participating child was gifted a helmet and a
brand-new bike, generously donated by the faculty of Jefferson Community
College.
The All Kids Bike program, a collaboration
between Encompass Recreation and the Adirondack
Foothills Cycling Club, aimed at empowering children through cycling,
has been a resounding success. Over the past three weeks, children have
learned to balance, pedal, and ride confidently, thanks to the dedicated
efforts of our volunteer instructors and the unwavering support of the
community.
The program took
place at Beaver River Central School, where families and friends gathered
to witness the children’s achievements. The event began with a short
ceremony recognizing the hard work and progress of each participant.
Encompass Recreation Director Kylie Schell expressed heartfelt gratitude to
everyone involved, highlighting the positive impact the program has had on
the children’s confidence, physical fitness, and sense of independence.
“Our goal has
always been to make learning to ride a bike accessible and fun for all
children. Seeing their smiles as they received their helmets and bikes is
truly priceless,” said Kylie Schell. “We couldn’t have achieved this
without the incredible support from our sponsors and volunteers.”
The highlight of
the evening was undoubtedly the moment when each child was called forward
to receive their very own helmet and bike. The excitement was palpable as
the children eagerly mounted their new bikes, ready to ride with newfound
confidence. The donated helmets and bikes ensure that every child can
continue to enjoy the freedom and joy of cycling safely.
As the evening
concluded, families stayed to enjoy their new water bottles and snacks,
while children showcased their riding skills in a safe, supervised
environment. The sense of community and accomplishment was evident as
parents, volunteers, and sponsors mingled and celebrated the children’s
success.
The Adirondack
Foothills Cycling Club and Encompass Recreation extend their sincere
thanks to everyone who contributed to making this event a success. The
generosity and commitment of The United Way of Northern New York, The Pratt
Northam Foundation, Northern Credit Union, The Jefferson Community College
Faculty and Beaver River Central School have made a significant difference
in the lives of these young riders.
