Hand in Hand Satellite Center in Harrisville Now Open
and Accepting Children

Hand in Hand OPENS Satellite Center in Harrisville!!
HARRISVILLE, NY – Hand in Hand
Early Childhood Center is OPEN in Harrisville as of April 24, 2024. The
coordination between Hand in Hand, Harrisville Central School District,
Development Authority of the North Country, Northern Border Regional
Commission, and Lewis County Planning and Community Development Department
has made this symbiotic relationship possible.
In the fall of
2023 Hand in Hand was awarded 2.9 million dollars from the Northern Border
Regional Commission for adding two classrooms to the Lowville Hand in Hand
center and to create two satellite centers. The satellite centers were to
be located at Harrisville Central School District and South Lewis Central
School District, on opposite ends of the County. Each satellite center
would provide approximately 32 childcare slots for ages infant-5 years of
age. The Lowville expansion would add up to 24 childcare slots to the
current center with a waiting list of approximately 75 children.
“The culmination
of this grand opening, is an immense accomplishment for the Harrisville
area, not only for everyone directly impacted but also to serve as a
replicable model for other communities to adapt to fit their specific needs,”
stated Megan Krokowski with Lewis County Planning and Community Development
The Harrisville
Hand in Hand Satellite Center received their licensing approval at 5:15 PM
on 4/23/2024 and on the 24th opened their doors accepting children! If you
