Winter Wildlife Webinar Series, Part 3: Tug Hill
Birds – March 12
WATERTOWN, NEW
YORK –The Tug Hill Commission will host the third of four virtual Winter
Wildlife Webinars on Tuesday, March 12, 2024
at 6 p.m. The third webinar of the series will spotlight the diverse bird
species of Tug Hill. Speakers will include Tug Hill Tomorrow Land Trust’s
Community Programs Director, Linda Gibbs, who has many years of
environmental education experience and enjoys helping people connect with
Tug Hill while supporting the land trust’s conservation mission. Also
speaking will be Irene Mazzocchi, retired (2021) NYS Department of
Environmental Conservation Wildlife Biologist. Irene has a diverse
conservation background, including work on habitat enhancement for
endangered, threatened, and game species, Region 6 land management, and
large project permit review for impacts to threatened and endangered
species. They will present on bird identification, population trends,
habitat protection efforts, ways to help birds every day, and point us
toward some ways we can help with citizen science programs.
