Barnes Corners Sno-Pals Hosting 19th Annual SNIRT Run March 30

Published: March 28, 2024 at 04:00 p.m.

By: Nick Altmire

Barnes Corners, NY- The 19th annual SNIRT Run, hosted by the Barnes Corners Sno-Pals snowmobile club, is set to take place on Saturday, March 30. The event is scheduled earlier than usual this year after the town of Montague passed a local law last fall banning motorized vehicle events from Town roads between April 1 and May 15 each year.

Thousands of riders are expected in Lewis County for the annual event this weekend. Participants are reminded to keep to the posted route and avoid roads that have been closed to the event, including Lee Gulf Road and Parker Road, in addition to private property and the local ATV trail system as this is a road only event. After a resolution was passed unanimously by the Lowville Town Board during their March 21 meeting, all Town of Lowville roads will be closed to ATV/UTV use during the event this year as well.
