Lewis County Health System Welcomes New Board Members

LCHS WELCOMES NEW
BOARD MEMBERS
LOWVILLE,
NY─ The Lewis County Health System Board of Managers welcomes two new
members, Vincent P. Nortz, Lowville, N.Y., and John Richard “Ric” Schwartz,
Brantingham, N.Y., to the Board.
“We are fortunate
to have these individuals join our Board of Managers,” stated Michael
Young, President of LCHS Board of Managers. “They are joining a talented group of
board members who already support and guide our organization.”
Mr. Vincent
Nortz, Lewis County Legislature District 5 seat, was appointed the Board of
Legislators representative on the Board of Managers. He attended SUNY Oswego and retired from
Kraft-Heinz in Lowville, where he worked for more than 40 years at the
plant. Mr. Nortz was responsible for
quality control and line production and was 3rd Shift facilitator.
Mr. Nortz has
volunteered as a youth coach for soccer and basketball and is a New York
State Football Track and Field Official.
He is an honorary Lowville Volunteer Fire Department member, holding
vice president and president offices.
He also served on the Lewis County Cause and Origin Team.
He currently
works at Tractor Supply. Mr. Nortz
has lived in the Village of Lowville for 44 years, is married, and has four
children and two grandchildren.
Mr. Ric Schwartz
is a graduate of State University College at Fredonia. He spent his 45-year career serving
people with disabilities, retiring from The Arc Greater Hudson Valley,
where he served as Executive Director for 20 years.
“Serving the
community has always been an essential part of my work, and I am looking
forward to serving with fellow Lewis County Health System board members and
administration to help achieve the goals and mission of the organization,”
stated Mr. Schwartz.
Mr. Schwartz
spent many years vacationing at Brantingham Lake with his family. In 2010, he and his wife purchased a home
on the Lake where they continue to make memories with their children and
grandchildren.
The Lewis County Board
of Legislators also reappointed member Karen Rennie to a second term from
January 2024 to December 2028.
Mr. Nortz and Mr.
Schwartz join members of the Lewis County Health System Board of Managers:
Jennifer Jones, John Lehman, Marguerite Mastascusa, Philip McDowell, Howard
Meny, M.D., Donald Musnicki, Karen Rennie, Susan
Ross, and Michael Young.
“Each of these
individuals has extensive community service and professional knowledge that
will help the health system continue to navigate and provide access to care
for Lewis County and surrounding communities,” stated Gerald R. Cayer, LCHS
Chief Executive Officer. “I look
forward to working with each of them to ensure the health system can
continue to meet the healthcare needs of residents today and into the
future.”
