CASTORLAND - Christel R.
Morehouse, 70, of Fish & Game Club Road, passed away on Saturday
evening, December 30, 2023 at Upstate University
Hospital, Syracuse.
In
keeping with Christel’s wishes, there will be no calling hours or
funeral service. Burial will be private
and at the convenience of the family in Lowville Rural Cemetery in the
spring. Arrangements are with Iseneker Funeral Home, Inc., Lowville.
Christel R. Morehouse is predeceased by her beloved husband Donald Morehouse
Jr. She is survived by daughter Tonya Pate and her companion Jason Turck of
Castorland, a son Randy Herzig and his companion Angela Marolf of
Castorland, and daughter Heather Noftsier of New Tazwell, TN; nine grandchildren and nine great
grandchildren; two step-children, Christopher Morehouse and Carrie
Rawlings; two step-grandchildren all of VA; her siblings a brother, Florian
and wife Susan Sullivan of Grand Rapids, MI, a sister, Cathy and husband
Keith Tuttle of Dexter, a sister, Josephine (Josie) and Ken Johnson of New
Tazwell, TN, a sister, Tammy and husband Tim Miles Berwick, PA, a brother,
Michael Sullivan predeceased her in 2015 at age 52 in St Francis, MN; a sister
from her biological father Christiane Zitzelsberger of Burglengenfeld
Bavaria Germany, and a brother Michael Schober of Weiden Germany.
Her biological father, Erwin Schober, predeceased her
in 1981 at age 58, of Weiden, Germany; her beloved mother, Rosemarie Sullivan,
predeceased her in 2010 at age 75 of Lowville, NY; and father (best friend) Wilbert Sullivan Jr,
predeceased her in 1993 at age 60 of Lowville, NY.
Christel was born May 14, 1953. She came to the United States when she
was 6 years old, she grew up on a small farm on the Rector
road in Lowville, NY.
Christel was a hard dedicated worker, who worked in manufacturing
until retirement. Christel truly enjoy photography, she covered several weddings and took
spectacular land scape photos in each season,
fall, winter and summer. Special hobbies were quilting and creative stain
glass. She enjoyed working in her
yard and with her plants. She and
her husband Don traveled out west several times to see the wild horses and
amazing terrain. Christel will be
missed by each member of the family as she was our rock from past to
present, and distant shores.
