COPENHAGEN – Allen E.
Rennie, 83, formerly of Stoddard Road, passed away on Monday afternoon, January
1, 2024, at the Lewis County Residential Healthcare Facility.
The funeral
service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 4, 2024 at Iseneker Funeral Home,
Inc. with Rev. Rachel Roberts officiating.
Burial will follow in Beaches Bridge
Cemetery. A luncheon at Lewis County
Marine Corps League Farney Hall, 7429 State Route 12, Lowville, will
immediately follow the graveside service, all are welcome. Calling hours are from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00
p.m. on Wednesday, January 3, 2024, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be
made Lewis County Residential Healthcare Facility, Attn: Activities

He is survived by
his children, Patricia and Joseph Godlewski of Copenhagen, Scott A. Rennie
of Watertown, Dennis S. and Paula Rennie of
Copenhagen; Matthew J. and Amy Rennie of Copenhagen; four brothers, Richard
Rennie of Lowville, Neil E. Rennie of Rome, Ronald and Albena Rennie of
Lowville, Mark and Mary Rennie of Lowville; six grandchildren and 12
great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins. He is predeceased by his wife, Carol, who
passed away on February 8, 2000; a son-in-law, David Simmons who passed
away on September 11, 2023; brother-in-law, V. Thomas Jones; and three
sisters-in-law, Roselyn Rennie, Anne Loope, and Virginia Rennie.
Allen was born on
May 19, 1940 in Lowville, NY, a son of the late
Kenneth E. and Nina M. Hulbert Rennie.
He attended Lowville Academy and worked for the Town of Watson
Highway Dept. while in school. Allen
worked for AMF and for Frank Buell’s gas station. On August 26, 1961, he married Carol E.
Jones at the First Methodist Church in Lowville with Rev. John Kelly and
Rev. Robert Mallabar officiating. After moving to Syracuse for a time, he
moved back to Croghan, where he worked for his brother, Richard Rennie, at
his garage in Castorland. Allen
worked for Beaverite Products in Croghan for five
years, before going back to work for his brother Richard’s garage for over
20 years. In 1987, Allen became Town
of Denmark Highway Superintendent, retiring in July 2007 after 20 years of
service.
Mr. Rennie was a lifelong
member of the Lewis County Highway Superintendents Association. He enjoyed spending time with his family.
