Approximately 2,000 National Grid Customers in Lewis
County Remain Without Power Wednesday Afternoon After Tuesday Night’s
Windstorm

on Thursday, January 11, 2024, power has been restored to the majority of the National Grid customers in Lewis
County that lost power as a result of Tuesday night’s windstorm. Lewis
County outages are down to 231 customers this morning. The remaining
outages are scattered across a number of town, as follows: Lyonsdale- 58; Watson-
48; Pinckney- 40; Diana- 37; Croghan- 14; Denmark- 12; Martinsburg- 12
Lewis County, NY- Of the 15,013
National Grid customers in Lewis County, approximately 2,029 remain without
power as of 2:30 Wednesday afternoon following Tuesday night’s windstorm
that impacted the region. In addition to the Lewis County outages, National
Grid is reporting that approximately 26,000 of their 58,152 customers in
Jefferson County are without power and 8,427 of their 43,979 customers in
St. Lawrence County are without power Wednesday afternoon.
In Lewis County
the largest outages are in the town of Diana as well as across the Tug Hill
region. In the town of Diana, 801 of the utilities
1,267 total customers remain without power Wednesday afternoon. Montague
has 154 of the 165 total customers in the dark, Pickney has 192 of the 251
total customers without power and Osceola shows 87 of the 386 total
customers out. There is also a significant outage impacting 542 of the
utilities 1,385 total customers in the town of Watson. Additional outages include 99 customers
in the town of Greig, 77 customers in the town of Denmark, 22 customers in
the town of Harrisburg, 17 customers in the Croghan, 14 customers in the
Town of Lowville, 12 customers in the town of Martinsburg and 9 customers
in the towns of New Bremen and Lyonsdale.
At
this time there are no reported restoration times as crews are
assessing the damage.

National Grid
will distribute dry ice at targeted locations in the region hit hardest by
last night's windstorm. Customers are asked to bring a cooler or paper
grocery bags to transport dry ice to their homes, and company personnel
will provide information about its proper handling. For Lewis County, the
following location will be distributing dry ice from 1-5 p.m. this
afternoon (January 10, 2024):
