 CROGHAN/NAUMBURG - Clifton J. Streeter, 90, of William Street, Croghan, formerly of NYS
Route 410, Naumburg, passed away on Monday
morning, December 11, 2023 at his home under the
loving care of his family and Lewis County Hospice.
The funeral will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday,
December 15, 2023 at First Mennonite Church, New
Bremen, 8383 State Route 812, Lowville, NY, with Ed Steckly, Pastor, and
Rev. Bruce W. Chapman officiating.
Calling hours will be from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. prior to the
funeral service, at the church. Burial with Military Honors will be in the Riverside
Cemetery Annex, Beaver Falls. Immediately following the burial, there will be an
informal gathering at First Mennonite Church Fellowship Hall, all are
welcome. In lieu of flowers,
contributions may be made to: Friends of Lewis County Hospice, PO Box 266,
Lowville, NY 13367. Arrangements are with Iseneker

Clifton J. Streeter was born July 8, 1933 in Croghan, NY, son of the late Harold and Berdena VerSchneider Streeter. He attended Beaver Falls High
School and graduated in 1950. Following graduation, he enlisted in the U.S.
Army from 1953-1955. Clifton was employed with Beaverite
for almost 40 years and retired in 1993.
He was married to the late Carol E. Lehman Streeter
on April 5, 1953 at the Evangelical United
Brethren Church, Beaver Falls with Reverend Norman Pusey, officiating.
Following their marriage, the couple lived in Leesville, LA and Manhattan,
KS, where Clifton served in the Armed Forces. In 1955, the couple moved
back to Lewis County and purchased their first home in Naumburg,
NY. In 1997, the couple moved to their home in Croghan.
At the age of 11, Clifton and his two brothers formed
the country band, The Adirondack Playboys. He continued to play the pedal
steel guitar with the band through his retirement in 2019.
As a couple, Clifton and Carol enjoyed traveling,
taking yearly bus trips to many interesting places. They also collected
antiques and collectibles attending estate and garage sales.
Clifton was a parishioner of the First Mennonite
Church, New Bremen and was a member of the American Legion Post #1663.
Clifton was predeceased by his wife, Carol; and three
brothers, Duane, Ralph and Niles. Surviving are
two sons and daughters in-law, Kim and Valerie of
Rome, NY; Kerry and Lisa of Clay, NY; four grandchildren, Michael Streeter
of Ontario, NY, Rebecca Simpson of Rome, NY, Nicole Kraus of Liverpool, NY
and Ryan Streeter of Indiana; several great-grandchildren and many special
family members, friends and neighbors.
The family would like to thank all
of the medical providers and Lewis County Hospice for their
compassion and care.
