Obituary: Betty J. Disotell, 80, Natural Bridge/Lowville

Description automatically generatedNATURAL BRIDGE/LOWVILLE- Betty Jane Disotell, 80, of Lime Street, formerly of Dewitt Street, Lowville, passed away at her home in Natural Bridge on Saturday, December 2, 2023 under the care of her loving family and Jefferson County Hospice.

 

A funeral service will be at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, December 8, 2023 at Iseneker Funeral Home, Inc., with Pastor Denyse Bowen, officiating.  A calling hour will be from 3:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. prior to the funeral service at the funeral home.  Spring burial will be in Lowville Rural Cemetery.  Contributions may be made in Betty’s memory to Jefferson County Hospice, 1398 Gotham Street, Watertown, NY 13601. 

 

Betty is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Theresa and John Williams of Natural Bridge with whom she resided; Bethany Mahran of Syracuse; four grandchildren, Brandon Williams and his fiancé Christina Swiernik, James Williams and his girlfriend Lily Sutton, Joseph Edick and Abraham Mahran.  She is predeceased by her husband, Robert Disotell; and a son Abraham Disotell.

 

Betty was born on March 1, 1943 in Ohio.  During high school, she was a volunteer at Lewis County General   Hospital and Graduated from Lowville Academy in 1962.  On October 9, 1965, she married Robert Amos Disotell.  He passed away on July 18, 1996.  She worked as a nurse’s aide for Lewis County General Hospital and later for Carthage Area Hospital Skilled Nursing Unit for many years.

 

She enjoyed word search puzzles, feeding the chipmunks, squirrels and watching the birds. She also enjoyed cuddling her dogs and going on road trips.  Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family.
