PRESS RELEASE
Grand Slam Safety Becomes 100% Employee-Owned
Transition Marks Key Milestone in Company’s
Succession Plan
[CROGHAN, NY.],
December 22, 2023 — Grand Slam Safety LLC, a manufacturing business
that produces high-quality sports netting and fencing systems for a wide
variety of indoor and outdoor venues, will be transitioning 35% of its
holdings to current employees, effective January 1, 2024. This succession
plan was recently announced at their annual corporate meeting.
Thanks to the
generosity of several founding members, seven mid-managers are poised to progressively
gain increased ownership of the company over the next five years. The
company noted that several strategic hires were procured within the last
five years with the intent to keep the business locally owned and operated
with Northern New York talent.
Current
President, Robert Lyndaker said, “These are exciting times for Grand Slam
Safety and the community! It has always been our hope to develop and
maintain a locally based company that will provide career opportunities for
people in our area! This is a big step in that direction!”
In
order to ensure a seamless transition, the remaining original owners; Robert
Lyndaker, Robert Chamberlain and Mickey Lehman plan to retain primary
ownership of the company while serving on the newly created Board of
Directors. Although managerial decisions will now be carried out by the
newly appointed General Manager, their continued involvement in the
business will bring stability and support throughout the transition period.
