CCE Lewis County Prepares for Its 2024 Winter Programs

Initiatives include monthly beekeeping meetings and a tractor safety course

Lowville, NY - Cornell Cooperative Extension Lewis County is gearing up for another year of impactful programs focused on community development and agricultural excellence. Through its partnership with Cornell University and other Land Grant universities from across the nation, CCE Lewis County connects people with the information they need on topics such as commercial and sustainable agriculture, 4-H youth development programs, energy efficiency, and more. Some of the upcoming programs in 2024 are:

·      4-H Dairy Bowl

·      4-H Homeschool Club

·      4-H Robotics Club

·      4-H Afterschool Programs

·      4-H Sparks Club

·      Ag in the Classroom

·      Farm to School Program

In addition to the above programs, beekeeper meetings are held at the Lewis County Education Center for Local beekeepers covering honey production, hive management, and other challenges facing the industry. CCE Lewis County is also set to host its annual Tractor Safety course—an essential six-week program providing youth with safety education, hands-on experience, and a deeper understanding of tractors and machinery in the spring of 2024.

By bridging the gap between university resources and local needs, CCE Lewis County continues to play a vital role in fostering growth, sustainability, and community.
