Mary Cathleen O'Connor

 

ARLINGTON, Virginia - Mary Cathleen O'Connor, 81, of Arlington, passed away on Thursday, November 23, 2023 in Arlington.

 

Cathleen was born on August 3, 1942, in Lowville, the daughter of the late Dr. David J. and Mary Frances Zehr O'Connor. She graduated from Watertown High School in 1960 and Marymount College in 1964 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree. She earned a business Certificate from Katherine Gibbs School for College Graduates as well as a certificate from The Hart Model Agency. She worked as an Administrative Assistant to a Space Research Executive, as a Stewardess and Recruiter for Pan American Airlines, as well as a Legal Assistant at a firm in Washington, DC. Most recently, she was self-employed as a distributor of political items.

 

Cathleen is survived by her cousins: Mary Ellen Dean of Buckeye, AZ; Samuel (Phyllis) Martin of Rochester; Linda (William) Thomas of Jacksonville, FL; Frederick (Lois) Zehr of Colorado Springs, CO; Suzanne Matuszczak of Glenfield; Thomas (Linda) Zehr of Castorland; Virginia (Mark) Trobert of Jamesville; Jeffrey (Val Juby) Zehr of Martinsburg; Joseph Zehr of Lowville; Cynthia Zehr of Lowville; and Lila (Floyd) Tabolt of Lowville. Also she is survived by her cousins' spouses Carol Zehr of Lowville, and Lamar Brown of Macon, GA.

 

She was predeceased by her cousins Daniel Zehr and Luann Zehr Brown, and her cousins' spouses John Dean and Arthur Matuszczak.

 

A funeral Mass will be said on Monday, December 4, 2023 at 11:00am at St. Stephen's Catholic Church, Croghan, with Rev. Donald J. Manfred, Pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in the family plot in St. Stephen's Cemetery.
