LOWVILLE - Kevin Scott Widrick,
53, of Hodge Road, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, November 10, 2023.
A time of
informal mingling and conversation with Kevin’s family and friends will be
from 1:30 – 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 16, 2023
at Iseneker Funeral Home, Inc., Lowville, with
the funeral service to follow at 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home. A dinner at the Croghan American Legion
will immediately follow the funeral, all are welcome. Any food donations may be brought
directly to the Croghan American Legion on Thursday starting at noon. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his
memory may be made to Friends of Lewis County Hospice, P.O. Box 266,
Lowville, NY 13367; or to the American
Red Cross, PO Box 37839, Boone, IA 50037-0839.
He is survived by
his wife, Sharon; his father, Virgil Widrick of Croghan; his brothers and
sister, Bruce (Patti) Widrick of Watertown; Brian (Laura) Widrick of
Lowville; Lynn Widrick of Croghan; Brenda (Lawrence) Sportello of Newport;
Dean (Kim) Widrick of Cary, North Carolina; a brother-in-law, Steve
Chisholm of Pennsylvania; several aunts, uncles, nieces
and nephews. He was predeceased by his
mother, Carole Kuhl Widrick; by a sister, Lisa Chisholm; and by a
sister-in-law, Kathleen Widrick.
Kevin was born on
November 19, 1969 in Watertown, NY, a son of Virgil
Widrick and the late Carole Kuhl Widrick.
He graduated from Beaver River Central School in 1987. While in school he played football and
wrestled. He was a founding father of the “Beef
Barn”, where his love of health and wellness started. Kevin went on to earn an Associate’s Degree from Herkimer County Community
College and his Bachelor’s Degree from Potsdam College. On July 23, 2013, he married Sharon Waligory in Portsmouth, NH. During Kevin’s career he worked for Boise
Cascade in Beaver Falls, AMF in Lowville, Disco Electric in Boonville,
Lowville Elks Lodge, Lewis County Employment & Training, and currently for
Jefferson-Lewis B.O.C.E.S.
Kevin was a
communicant of St. Stephen’s Catholic Church, Croghan. He was member of
BPOE 1605, Lowville Elks Lodge, and was Board Member of Lewis County Head
Start. He supported the American Red
Cross as an active blood donor.
Kevin loved live
music and going to concerts. He also
loved going to the gym, taking walks, hiking, and kayaking. Kevin enjoyed engaging with people. When he captured you in typical
conversation, your exchange was quickly transformed from normal discussion
to an exceptional exchange.
