Special Notice to
Voters in the Towns of Leyden and West Turin:
CONTESTED RACES:
All voters in
Lewis County will be voting for contested races for County Sheriff,
District Attorney, and State Supreme Court Justices. For Sheriff, incumbent
Michael P. Carpinelli is running on the Republican line with challenger
Nichole K. Turck on the Conservative line. Incumbent District Attorney
Leanne K. Moser is seeking a fifth term on the Democratic line, with
Jeffery G. Tompkins challenging on the Republican and Conservative lines.
Three candidates are seeking two Supreme Court Justice seats, with Jean
Marie Westlake and Peter M. Rayhill on the Republican and Conservative
lines and Bob Cohen on n independent line.
There are two
contested races for seats on the Lewis County Board of Legislators. In
District 2, incumbent Lisa Virkler is on an independent line, challenged by
Thomas M. Kalamas on the Republican line. Mr. Kalamas defeated Ms. Virkler in the Republican primary
election in June. In District 6, incumbent Andrea J. Moroughan
is on the Republican line with Paul Stanford challenging on the Democratic
line.
There are a number of contested local races as well, including:

Copenhagen Village Trustee- Three candidates
are vying for two seats. Paticia Bates, Diane Mahar, and Shareef J. Stokely
all appear on an independent line.

Croghan Town Clerk Collector- Two candidates,
Megan Kalamas Simpson on the Republican and
Conservative lines and Chelsea Lehman Cowan on an
independent line.

Croghan Town Council- Four candidates
are vying for two seats. Derek M. Gage and Todd H. Lyndaker are on the
Democratic line and Richard A. Meyer and Alexander E. Virkler are on the
Republican line.

Diana Town Council- Three candidates are vying for
two seats. Kelly Ritz and Carl D. Pierce are on the Republican line and
Lonnie Phipps is on an independent line.
·
Greig Town Supervisor- Two candidates,
Marilyn A. Paterson on the Republican line and
Robert Johnson on an independent line.
·
Greig Town Highway Superintendent- Two candidates,
Mike Alfano on the Republican line and Adam Light
on an independent line.
·
Lewis Town Tax Collector- Two candidates, Christina
A. Stinebrickner on the Democratic line and Tammy A Weller on the Republican line.

Lyonsdale Town Highway Superintendent- Two candidates,
Dale Hawk on the Republican line and Shane Rogers
on an independent line.

Osceola Town Clerk- Two candidates, Nicole S. Gokey
on the Republican line and Heather Hillabrandt on an independent line.
·
Turin Town Supervisor- Two candidates,
Jane M. Gillette on the Republican line and
Kaitlyn Matthews on an independent line.
