IN EFFECT UNTIL 715 PM EDT THIS EVENING...
* WHAT...Flooding
caused by excessive lake effect rainfall is
expected.
* WHERE...A
portion of central New York, including the following
counties, Jefferson, Lewis
and Oswego.
* WHEN...Until
715 PM EDT Sunday.
*
IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying
and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring.
* ADDITIONAL
DETAILS...
- At 108 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated
heavy rain. Flooding
is ongoing or expected to begin shortly
in the warned area.
Between 1 and 3 inches of rain have
fallen.
- Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3
inches are possible in
the warned
area.
- Some locations that will experience
flooding include...
Oswego, Sandy Island Beach State Park,
Stony Point, Carthage,
Lowville, Pulaski, West Carthage,
Adams, Redfield, Barnes
Corners, Adams Center, Highmarket, Whetstone Gulf State Park,
Southwick Beach State Park, Henderson
Harbor, Selkirk Shores
State Park, Mexico Point State Park,
Nine Mile Point and
Scriba.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS
ACTIONS...
Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in
vehicles.
In hilly terrain
there are hundreds of low water crossings which are
potentially
dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded
roads. Find an
alternate route.
