Traffic Alert: Portion of State Route 177 Closed Due to Overturned Gasoline Tanker Tractor Trailer

UPDATE 09/14/23 (02:00 p.m.): Link to Incident Report from Lowville Fire Department

 

UPDATE 09/14/23 (05:30 a.m.): As of 5 a.m., the scene has been safely cleared and Route 177 is reopened to traffic.

 

UPDATE (12:40 p.m.): Route 177 remains closed at this time as crews continue work at the scene. Lowville Fire has requested a tanker-only response from Adams Center, Lorraine, Glenfield, New Bremen, Castorland, and Martinsburg fire departments in addition to equipment from Watertown and Fort Drum.

 

UPDATE (10:25 a.m.): No injuries are reported from the crash and at this time officials report a minimal amount of fuel leaking from the saddle tank on the truck, with no leaks from the tanker trailer.
