Lowville, NY- The Village of
Lowville Board of Trustees held an unscheduled emergency meeting this
morning appointing Pamela Roes as the interim village clerk/treasurer.
Mayor Joseph
Beagle said the meeting was quickly organized after Clerk/Treasurer
Danielle St. Louis resigned this morning. On the advice of village attorney
James Burrows, Mr. Beagle declined to discuss the specifics of the
resignation.
The emergency
meeting was conducted with a minimum quorum of three of the five board
members present, Mayor Beagle, in addition to Trustees Timothy Widrick and
Charles Terrillion- both members of the personnel committee. Ms. Roes was
appointed to serve the role of Clerk/Treasurer on an interim basis until a permanent
candidate can be found to fill the role.
Ms. Roes previously
served many years as the Clerk/Treasurer for the village, retiring from the
position in August of 2021. Ms. St. Louis was appointed to the position in
August of 2021, during the same meeting that announced the retirement of
Ms. Roes. Ms. St. Louis also currently serves as the Clerk/Treasurer for
the Village of Port Leyden.
