Description automatically generatedAfter enduring a period of political rhetoric and increasing divisiveness, our community is eager to find common ground and reconnect. Recognizing the potential of farmers’ markets to foster unity, we are delighted to announce the upcoming Farmers’ Market Week, which will be celebrated from August 6-12. This year’s theme, “Farmers’ Markets Bring People Together”, emphasizes the vital role markets play in promoting community connections and bridging divides.

Farmers’ markets have always held a special place in our hearts as vibrant gathering spaces where individuals, families, and communities unite to celebrate the abundance of fresh, locally grown produce and handmade goods. These bustling hubs nourish not only our bodies but also enrich our social fabric, acting as catalysts for cultivating relationships and promoting healthy lifestyles within our communities. The theme for this year’s Farmers’ Market Week highlights the invaluable contributions of farmers’ markets in building bridges and fostering a sense of togetherness.

Throughout Farmers’ Market Week, we encourage residents and visitors alike to explore the diverse array of vendors, activities, and flavors available at our local farmers’ markets. From farm-fresh fruits and vegetables to artisanal cheeses, baked goods, and handcrafted items, these markets offer an incredible variety of products that reflect the unique character of our region.

By directly supporting local farmers, artisans, and producers, consumers can experience the unmatched quality, flavor, and freshness that come with buying from local farms and play an active role in nurturing a sustainable and resilient local food system while forging connections with the people who grow and produce their food.

Farmers’ Market Week serves as a testament to unwavering commitment to support our local farmers, artisans, and small businesses.

Join us at the Lyons Falls ALIVE Farmers’ & Crafters’ Market as we celebrate Farmers’ Market Week this August 6—12. We’ll be featuring games & activities for kids, numerous door prizes, free ice cream sundaes donated by Stewarts Shops, dancing by “For His Glory”, walking story book by Lyons Falls Library, and at 12 Noon ribbon cutting for Lyonesse signage, and our usual lunches sold by our Fire Department, as our special tribute to Farmers’ Market Week. Join us Tuesday, August 8, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Lyons Falls ALIVE Farmers’ & Crafters’ Market located at 6904 Laura St, the Lyons Falls Riverside Park. We are looking forward to celebrating with you.
