The New York
State Board of Elections has become aware that individuals, across multiple
counties, have been impersonating county board of elections staff. They are
confronting voters at their homes and accusing voters of committing a crime
because they allegedly appear in the state voter database more than once.
If this has
happened to you or happens to you in the future, please report this to us
immediately by calling 315-376-5329 or email us at boe@lewiscounty.ny.gov
Please provide us
with as much detail as possible regarding these incidents. We will
absolutely report this to local law enforcement in addition to the New York
State Board of Elections.
The Lewis County
Board of Elections nor any BOE, will never knock
on your door. Any representation by someone at your door claiming to be BOE
staff is false, and we encourage you to contact us as soon as possible.
