Description automatically generatedLewis County Public Transportation is upgrading all of its riders to Transit Royale, the new subscription in Transit, Lewis County Public Transportation’s official app. Beginning today, Lewis County Public Transportation riders will have access to a free Royale subscription, which unlocks additional features, special Lewis County Public Transportation branding, new customization options, and complete access to the app across the more than 300 cities supported worldwide.

In August 2021, Royale launched in cities where transit agencies had not already chosen Transit as their official or recommended app for riders. Today, Lewis County Public Transportation joins systems across the country in gifting Royale to all its riders, with more agencies planning announcements in the coming months.

As the update rolls out over the next week, riders will receive a message in the app informing them that Lewis County Public Transportation is upgrading them to Transit Royale. From there, users can simply tap to redeem their free subscription.

With Royale, riders have access to power features such as customizable themes, personalized emojis that allow riders to become celebrities on their local bus line, and leaderboards for users competing to help the most riders with Transit’s GO crowdsourcing feature.

This partnership also unlocks the special ability for riders to switch the app icon and theme to match Lewis County Public Transportation’s branding – offering riders a world-class mobile app experience that is at once universal and locally-branded.

Through Royale, Lewis County Public Transportation is partnering with Transit to provide a world-class app experience.

“Since Guillaume and I started Transit almost a decade ago, our mission has been to help people get around without their own car. As the company has grown, we’ve always put public transit first, working closely with our partners across the industry to bring everything riders need together in one place,” said Sam Vermette, CEO of Transit. “By providing free Royale subscriptions to everyone who rides, our partners at Lewis County Public Transportation are working hand-in-hand with our team to unlock the best app experience for riders. As we launch Royale, I’m especially proud of how far we’ve come together.”

Samantha Brown, Lewis County’s Community Development Program Specialist, is excited to finally launch Lewis County Public Transportation on the Transit App. She says, “By utilizing the Transit App, residents of Lewis County can conveniently access up-to-date public transportation schedules, empowering them to navigate our rural area with ease, improve mobility options, and enhance connectivity within our community.”

To use this new transportation tool, simply download it from the App Store or get it on Google Play. This service is free to Lewis County Public Transportation users.
