Highway Departments and Town Budgets Workshop
August 23, 2023, 6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.
Watertown, NY –
There is often a lot of confusion as to who is really in charge of the town
highway department. Is it the town board or the highway superintendent? The
Tug Hill Commission and the Northern Oneida County Council of Governments
are providing a workshop to discuss statutory duties of both the town board
and the highway superintendent when it comes to highway operations
including the highway budget, hiring, and firing highway workers and
control of highway equipment. Instructor Laird Petrie will lead this
highway departments and town budgets discussion on Wednesday, August 23,
2023, from 6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. at the Town of Trenton Municipal Center, 8520
Old Poland Road, Barneveld, NY 13304. This workshop is a second opportunity
to learn more about this topic, as Mr. Petrie previously presented on it in
Adams in May.
