PRESS RELEASE

On July 22, 2 203, at 2:25 p.m., State Police in Lowville, along with the New York State Parks Police, responded to a reported drowning at Southwick Beach State Park.

When patrols arrived, they observed CPR being administered to a male that was removed from the water by other swimmers. The male, identified as 40-year-old Odonel Archange from Syracuse, NY, was transported by ambulance to Samaritan Medical Center, where he was pronounced deceased.

An autopsy is scheduled to determine an official cause of death.

The investigation is continuing, and there is no indication of any foul play at this time. It appears Mr. Archange died from an apparent drowning.
