Historic 1826 Lowville Village Band
summer concert series concludes Wednesday Evening at 7:00PM
On Wednesday,
August 2 at 7:00 PM in Lowville Veterans Memorial Park, located behind the
Post Office the historic Lowville Village Band returns to the Millard
Chamberlain Band Stand for the final time this Summer to present
an old-fashioned band concert. These concerts have been gracing
the community with recorded history back to 1826.
This concert will
feature two great John Philip Sousa Marches, his two most famous "The
Washington Post" and "The Stars and Stripes Forever." Pop
songs to be performed include "Bohemian Rhapsody" and "Funkytown". Movie themes will include "The
Imperial March/Darth Vaders Theme from Star
Wars/The Empire Strikes Back and themes from the movies Spider-Man, Edward
Scissor Hands, Beetlejuice, and the Nightmare Before Christmas. The concert
will conclude with a tribute to New York with the theme from "New
York, New York" and "God Bless America".
Everyone is
cordially invited to this free old-fashioned concert in the park. Bring
a chair, have a picnic, enjoy the updated playground
and open space for ball and frisbee while enjoying the talents found in our
community. In case of thunderstorms or heavy rain the concert will be
