Barbara Perez Joins Thousand Islands Area Habitat for Humanity as New Executive Director

Description automatically generatedWatertown, NY– Thousand Islands Area Habitat for Humanity (TIAHFH) is thrilled to announce that Barbara Perez, a distinguished nonprofit leader with dual master's degrees from Liberty University, has been appointed as its new Executive Director, effective July 1, 2023.

 

“We are delighted to have Barbara on board," said Marc Rusch, Chair of Thousand Islands Area Habitat for Humanity, Board of Directors. “Her extensive expertise in non-profit development, combined with her academic credentials, make her an ideal fit to lead our organization. Barbara's passion for community engagement and her commitment to service align perfectly with our mission to build communities, homes, and hope in the Thousand Islands area.”

 

Perez holds a Master of Arts in Human Services Counseling with a concentration in Military Resiliency and a Master of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies, both from Liberty University. Her experience spans multiple leadership roles in the non-profit sector, most recently serving as the Development and Engagement Officer at Tuesday's Children. Prior to that, she held significant positions within the Boy Scouts of America, leading operations, budgeting, and successful fundraising initiatives.

 

Barbara's expertise with community development will be instrumental in promoting the Thousand Islands Area Habitat for Humanity. Her strategic vision and ability to build strong partnerships and mobilize resources will allow TIAHFH to expand its impact and make a lasting difference in the lives of community members.

 

“I'm deeply honored to join the dedicated team at Thousand Islands Area Habitat for Humanity," said Perez. "This organization plays a crucial role in our community, and I am committed to expanding our reach and enhancing our impact, ensuring more families have access to affordable housing.”
