The North Country
Short Track Mountain Bike Series is now under a month before our first
event! The Adirondack Foothills Cycling Club is presenting a series of
different races to allow different skill levels and age groups to have fun
and challenging races along with spectator friendly action. Six different
races in the morning include an under 15 years old, a 15-18
year old, and a kids fun free lap along with beginner, intermediate,
and expert adult categories for men and women.
This series is
grassroots so that we can grow and support a community of mountain bikers
without a high registration cost. Winners receive a
wooden engraved medals for top three finishers. All profits from
this series will be the starting fundraiser for a Kids Bicycle Adventure
Team that we hope to start next year!
Each event has
beautiful scenery hosted at two local Lewis County businesses where their
outstanding hospitality will be on display. Participants, families, and the
public are more than welcome to challenge themselves and/or spectate the
events throughout the morning.
Each event starts
at 7AM with the opening of the course for riding and registration. The racing starts at 8:45 and wraps up around 12:20 PM to
avoid the afternoon heat for participants.
