Lowville Sees Above Normal Temperatures and Normal Precipitation During April While Setting Record for Number of 80 Degree Days for the Month

Lowville, NY- Overall, Lowville saw above average temperatures last month, with a normal amount of precipitation, according to weather data compiled from the Northeast Regional Climate Center (dating back to 1893).

 

April finished with a mean average temperature (cumulative highs and lows) of 46.9 degrees in Lowville, 5.1 degrees above the normal mean average temperature for April in Lowville of 41.8 degrees. In terms of ranking, it was the 13th warmest April on record and the warmest April since 2010 when the mean average temperature for the month was 47.2 degrees. The warmest April on record for Lowville occurred in 1921, when the mean average temperature for the month was 51.5 degrees. The coldest April occurred in 1926, when the mean average temperature was 34.8 degrees for the month. The highest temperature of the month last month reached 85 degrees on April 16th. The lowest temperature recorded last month was 20 degrees on both April 2nd and 3rd.
