System Welcomes Keith Bates FNP-C
LOWVILLE, NY─ Lewis County
Health System and Lewis County Family Practice are pleased to welcome
Family Nurse Practitioner Keith Bates, FNP-C, to the medical staff. Keith joins Monica Kwicklis,
MD, M. Lynn Pisaniello, MD, Shirley
Tuttle-Malone, DO, John Wat, DO, Stacey Walton, FNP-C, Nicole Topits, FNP-C, and Kathy Der, FNP-C. He will see patients at Lewis County
Family Practice, located on the third floor of the Medical Arts Building on
the health system’s main campus in Lowville.

Practices. “His extensive 18 years
of nursing experience and passion for health care perfectly complement our
Medical Staff.”
Keith is certified
by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. He earned his master’s degree in nursing
from the Utica University Family Nurse Practitioner program in Utica,
NY. Keith received his bachelor’s
degree in nursing from Chamberlain College of Nursing, Grove, IL, and his
associate degree in nursing from Mohawk Valley Community College, Utica,
NY. He completed his training at
various Lewis County Health System locations, including family practice,
pediatrics, and women’s health.
In addition to
his being a Family Nurse Practitioner, Keith also practices as a New York
State EMT-B, and he is a certified instructor in CPR, First Aid, Basic and
Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, and
American Heart Association Cardiac Rhythm, Pharmacology, and Airway
Management. Keith is also certified
by the National Institute of Health Stroke Scale and FEMA in the National
Incident Management System.
Prior to becoming
a Nurse Practitioner, Keith worked as an acute care nursing supervisor at Lewis
County General Hospital, Lowville, NY, the Emergency Department and Medical
ICU at St. Elizabeths Medical Center, Utica, NY, as a travel nurse in
several states, and a Certified Flight Nurse with LifeNet
of NY, Watertown/Fort Drum, NY, and Native Air, Mesa, AZ. In the spring of 2020, at the start of
the COVID pandemic, Keith deployed with a FEMA agency to support hard-hit
New York City and worked in multiple COVID ICUs at Lincoln Medical Center,
Bronx, NY. Most recently, Keith
worked as a Clinical Nursing Instructor with the Jefferson County Community
College RN Program in Watertown, NY.
When not at work,
Keith enjoys living on the Tug Hill as an avid snowmobile and ATV
enthusiast, along with growing and tending to his homestead with his wife
Amanda and three children, Easton, Kreigh, and
Julia. He is an active EMT and a
sitting board member with Constableville Ambulance and Fire Company. Keith also is the president, co-founder,
and coach of the Tug Hill Yeti Youth Hockey and Skating Club.
