Lewis County Dairy Promotion Committee Decides to Return to Dairy Princess Format; Seeks Interested Candidates for Princess and Ambassadors

Published: May 24, 2023 at 06:00 p.m.

By: Press Release from Lewis County Dairy Promotion Committee

The Lewis County Dairy Promotion Committee is seeking youth who have a passion for the dairy industry and are interested in becoming dairy advocates either as Dairy Princess or Dairy Ambassador.  The Dairy Promotion program is not only a great way to educate the public on the importance of dairy in their diet, but it is a great opportunity for youth to mature in their public relation and public speaking skills.

After participating in the American Dairy Association North East recent change to Dairy Ambassador – not princess - for the past year, it is the decision of the Lewis County Promotion Committee and Dairy Ambassadors to go back to the original Lewis County Dairy Princess format, finding that the school children relate to the dairy message given by a princess but generally do not connect to the meaning of ambassador.

Individuals interested in competing for dairy princess must be age 16 or older.  Individuals aged 9 – 21 are invited to join the Ambassador program.  If interested, please contact Committee Chairperson Reagan Burker at 315-778-7311 for further information.

The Dairy Princess Pageant will be held at 1:00 p.m. June 11, 2023, at the 3-G Fire Department, 6229 Blue St., Glenfield. Light refreshments and ice cream sundaes will be served.  There is no charge to attend.  The public is encouraged to come and support the dairy promotion program.
