On April 24,
2023, State Police in Watertown arrested Starmecca
K. Belton, age 32 from Utica, NY for the following charges:

(3) counts of Possession of a Forged
Instrument 1st degree, class “C” felony
·
(3) counts of Conspiracy 4th degree,
class “E” felony
·
(3) counts of Petit Larceny, class “A”
misdemeanor
Belton is charged
with passing counterfeit $100 bills at Walmart stores in the Town of
Watertown, Town of Leray, and Town of
Lowville.
Belton was
arraigned in Jefferson County Court and remanded to the Jefferson County
Jail on $7500 cash bail.
The investigation
is continuing.

Watertown are attempting to identify two individuals who were captured on
surveillance using counterfeit $100 bills at Walmart stores in Jefferson
and Lewis Counties.
