Double Play Community Center Launching New Community
Facility
New, all inclusive health and wellness facility
slated to open Fall 2023
 Lowville, NY- Double Play
Community Center has acquired the 9,500 square-foot facility on Bardo Rd in
Lowville (formerly the Ridgeview banquet hall and restaurant). This
location will serve as the future site for Double Play Community Center,
combining the fitness center, teen center, senior center, two large
classroom spaces and will introduce 3 new outdoor recreational areas; sand
volleyball courts, a youth baseball field and another multipurpose
field.
Since 2011,
Double Play Community Center has had a mission to improve the quality of life
for Lewis County residents through health, fitness and enrichment programs
and facilities. With the acquisition of this new site, the fitness center,
teen center and senior center will come together in one easily accessible,
central location able to serve a larger number of Lewis County residents.
The new site will allow enrichment programs to grow to include cooking and
nutrition classes, with expanded programs in wellness, music and the arts
as well. The planned sports fields and outdoor space will provide more
opportunity for community sports, gathering and events.
Double Play
Community Center is currently working with local codes and zoning officials
at the Town of Lowville to finalize and receive approvals before beginning
renovations. Existing classes and programs will continue as work on the new
site is completed, with a move to the new facility planned for fall 2023.
