Printer’s Error Results in Wrong Assessor Information on Majority of Senior Citizen Tax Exemption Postcards Mailed to Lewis County Property Owners

Lewis County, NY- Many of the postcards recently mailed to all residential property owners in Lewis County by the County’s Real Property office contained incorrect assessor information.

 

“Municipalities were required to mail out second notices to all residential property owners advising them of the availability of a senior citizens exemption they could potentially qualify for,” Lewis County Director of Real Property Candy Akins said.  “Unfortunately, the printing company we contracted with to do this made a huge error when sending the postcards out and most property owners received a notice with the incorrect assessor information on it.”

 

Ms. Akin provided the following list of Assessors for each town in Lewis County, along with their contact information:
