Lowville, NY- With the deadline to file paperwork with the Lewis County Board of Elections passed as of 5 p.m. this afternoon, the ballot for the Village of Lowville’s March 21 election is now set.

Interested candidates for the mayor and two trustees positions on the ballot this year were able to begin collecting the 75 required petition signatures from village residents on January 23. Potential candidates then had to file their completed petition with the Board of Elections beginning on February 7 through today’s 5 p.m. filing deadline.

The following candidates have submitted petitions and will be included on the March 21 ballot:

MAYOR

Joseph Beagle (incumbent)

Kae Young

TRUSTEE (VOTE FOR 2):

Tim Widrick (incumbent)

Tony Adsit

Current Trustee Edward Murphy, whose seat is up for election this year, did not file a candidate petition.

Voting will take place on Tuesday, March 21, 2023, from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m., at the Lowville Municipal Building located at 5535 Bostwick Street. Terms for the newly elected officials begin April 1, 2023. All three positions are for four-year terms.

We’ll have more on the candidates in the coming weeks leading up to the election.
