Multiple Fire Agencies Respond to Lewis County
Hospital Wednesday Night for Reported Gas Leak

Fire Dispatch:
Lowville Fire was dispatched shortly before 10:30 p.m. to the Emergency
Room at Lewis County General Hospital for a reported gas leak, possibly in
the area under construction. Lowville fire units are on scene and have
reported a possible gas leak inside of the building. Lowville has requested
interior fire fighters from Castorland and
Martinsburg to respond to the scene.
UPDATE 10:45
p.m.: Lowville Fire Chief reports to dispatchers that a large propane tank
was located and leaking propane, and reports that fire crews currently have
the leak stopped. A propane technician has been requested to respond to the
scene.
UPDATE 11:15
p.m.: Lowville Fire Chief has requested Beaver Falls, Croghan and Glenfield
fire departments to respond to the scene with additional gas meters.
UPDATE 12:30
a.m.: Beaver Falls, Croghan, and Glenfield units have all cleared the scene
and returned to service.
UPDATE 12:40
a.m.: Martinsburg and Castorland units have
cleared the scene and returned to service.

Lowville Units have cleared the scene and returned to service.
