December Sees Above Average Temperature and Precipitation for Lowville

Lowville, NY- Overall, Lowville saw well above average temperatures and precipitation last month, according to weather data compiled from the Northeast Regional Climate Center (dating back to 1893).

 

December finished with a mean average temperature (cumulative highs and lows) of 28.1 degrees in Lowville, a full 3.4 degrees above the normal mean average temperature for December in Lowville of 24.7 degrees. In terms of ranking, it was the 19th warmest December on record. The warmest December on record for Lowville occurred in 2015, when the mean average temperature for the month was 36.9 degrees. The coldest December occurred in 1989, when the mean average temperature was 4.8 degrees for the month. The highest temperature of the month last month reached 49 degrees during the final day of the month on December 31st. The lowest temperature recorded during the month was 4 degrees on both December 24th and 25th.
