Historic Lowville Village Band to Hold Final Concert
in the Park of the Season on August 3

The historic
Lowville Village Band will present its final concert in the park on
Wednesday, August 3 in beautiful Veteran's Memorial Park. The concert
will begin at 7:00 PM with the playing of the National Anthem, The Star Spangled Banner. Following will an assortment
music from all sorts of genres included showtunes, patriotic selections,
pop songs from the 1960s, 1980's and 2000's.
This final
concert will feature medleys from the Broadway
and movies Oliver and The King and I. Pop tunes from different
decades include the Italian 1958 number 1 hit and Grammy Award for record
and song of the year "Nel Blu Dipinto Di Blu” or "Volare".
Bobby Rydells pop version called just
"Volare" was a hit in 1960. "FunkyTown" was a big hit in the 1980's . A
medley of pop star Lady Gaga will be heard in a medley called
"Lady Gaga Dance Mix". The band will play the
haunting Irish fold song "carrickfergus" and the powerful bolero
"Procession to Machu Picchu". Closing out the concert will
a tribute to America our military men and women in "Armed Forces
Salute" and "God Bless America"
IT should be a
wonderful evening of live outdoor entertainment! Bring a chair or
blanket, let the kids play on the playground or play ball and frisbee and
sit back and enjoy an old fashioned concert on the green, just like Lowville did in 1826!
