RiverFest to be Held on July 30
LEWIS
COUNTY, NY– Riverfest, an annual
Black River adventure for kayakers and canoers, will be back on July 30th!
Hosted by the Lewis County Chamber of Commerce & Adirondacks Tug Hill
for over a decade and now co-hosted by the Carthage Chamber of Commerce. RiverFest will be held on the 10.3-mile route from Castorland to Carthage with the midpoint being the new
Deer River boat launch. This year’s Riverfest is sponsored by the following
Lewis County Chamber Members: Sterling Roots, Americu, Naturally Lewis, Carthage Savings &
Kraft Heinz. Whether you’re a newcomer or someone who joins
us each year – don’t miss out on this year's camaraderie and adventure!
While on the water, be
ready for a trivia contest by Lewis County Soil & Water! There will be
snacks available at the midpoint to recharge attendees, and post-event
specials at Zero Dock Street Restaurant & Bar. RiverFest fun is more
than a day this year! The Lewis County Chamber is co-hosting a special
event on Thursday July 28th with the Friends of the Black River at LACS featuring Dr. John Gallucci. His presentation
on the Castorland Journal, first-person accounts of Pierre Pharoux and Simon
Desjardins who were sent to what would come to be known as Lewis &
Jefferson counties back in 1793! Registration is required: tinyurl.com/castorland.
The fun doesn’t stop there
- Adirondacks Tug Hill is sponsoring Food Truck Fridays on Friday, July 29th
in Croghan! Last minute RiverFest registration
will be available at the event.
